Designing a high-visibility storefront sign to improve discoverability.
01 Visibility-Focused Design
A storefront A-frame sign was designed to stand out in a visually competitive retail environment.
02 Clear Information Hierarchy
Typography, icons, and layout were structured to communicate the store’s key services quickly and clearly.
03 Directional Wayfinding
Directional arrows and layout variations were created to guide pedestrians toward the store entrance.
Context
DubDub Toys is a LEGO reseller specializing in new, rare, and retired sets as well as individual minifigures.
The store asked for a sidewalk A-frame sign that could help direct nearby foot traffic toward the store and communicate its key services to passersby.
The design needed to work with the existing store branding and logo while improving visibility and wayfinding.
Even with nearby pedestrian traffic, the store could be overlooked because it was not directly in the main walking path.
The challenge was to design a sign that could quickly capture attention and guide pedestrians toward the store.
A high-visibility A-frame sign was designed to attract attention, communicate the store’s services, and guide pedestrians toward the entrance.
The design combines bold colors, clear messaging, and directional cues to make the sign easy to understand at a glance.
The sign incorporates the store’s existing logo and LEGO-inspired color palette to create immediate visual recognition. Using bright, high-contrast colors helps the sign stand out from surrounding signage while reinforcing the store’s connection to LEGO products.
Emphasized using large typography and graphics. This hierarchy ensures that passersby can quickly understand what the store offers even when viewing the sign from a distance.
Directional arrows were incorporated into the design to guide pedestrians toward the store entrance. Because the sign is double-sided, the layout was adjusted so the arrow could direct customers correctly depending on how the sign is placed along the walkway.
This project was my first experience designing for a real client. I was also unfamiliar with the design software at the start, which meant learning new tools while developing the sign. Throughout the process I communicated with the client to better understand what they wanted and how the sign would be used.

Designing for Real Clients
This was my first experience designing for a real client, which required learning how to communicate ideas clearly and ask questions to understand their needs.
High-Visibility Design
Bright colors and bold typography help the sign stand out in a busy retail environment.
Learning Through the Process
Working with new tools like Adobe Illustrator and iterating based on feedback helped build confidence in my design workflow.

Key Takeaways

Thanks For Reading <3
Looking back, there are several aspects of the design I would approach differently, but the experience was extremely valuable. It helped me learn how to work with clients, ask the right questions, and adapt my design decisions based on real-world needs.
